Independent Artist Of The Week: Roadhouses

August 15th 2016

Roadhouses

Sydney-based sedated rock trio Roadhouses write brooding, velvety, “codeine tempo anti-romance songs”. Their first single is ‘Drinkin’: a bluesy ode to the bottle that is the first taste of their upcoming debut album.

Roadhouses is comprised of Yvonne Moxham on guitar and vocals, Cec Condon (drums, percussion), James Bellesini (bass) and Nicolas Vernhes on production and synths. They sing of desire, love and loss – citing Sun Kil Moon, Yo La Tengo, Neil Young, Lou Reed and Karen Carpenter amongst a wide array of musical influences.

So all you lo-fi, slow jam lovin’ rock romantics out there, this one’s for you.
