Independent Artist of the Week: Spirals

July 11th 2016

Spirals

Spirals draw from a worldly mix of influences, blending hip hop, latin, afro and jazz into their production. The result is so dreamy, you’ll feel yourself physically exhale with each phrase. Time will slow. It’s a musical muscle relaxant.

The Sydney duo, Jerry Agbinya and Kirk Body, bring together a smooth mix of electronic elements, live sampling, vocals and guitar. Their recent self-titled EP is an immersive experience, meandering through a lush jungle of slow beats and sax solos.

As their first official release, Spirals proves what a force these guys are on the scene, with standout singles ‘Neptune’ and ‘Scoop Cat’. Keep an eye on this pair.
