Listen:: Baro Interview and Live Rap Session on Stolen Records Sunset

“Come for the support acts. I never book shitty support acts.”
The Stolen Records crew of Mike Who and Shantan Wantan Ichiban were able to steal some time from up-and-coming Melbourne rapper Baro and his never-seen-without crew. They mixed it up with an on the spot live rap session and some memories from their mud-ridden Splendour in the Grass experience.
“Some dude in the crowd kept smiling at me in a really suss way – I started forgetting the lyrics and for three seconds was the most uncomfortable man on the planet Earth.”
Their heads weren’t all stuck in the past though with the 18-year-old’s new EP 17/18 coming out and about just recently, promoted by his recent show with support Gill Bates down at the Goodgod Small Club. Where does he get his motivation? From his spirit animal of course — the noble seagull.
But with one of his new singles inspired by creatures with a fuzzier feeling, what’s his opinion on bears?
“The whole aesthetic of them is just really beautiful.”

Baro and his crew also came to Local Live at FBi back in March and gave a sweet laid-back rendition of his track ‘Seasons’. Check out the photo-memories or watch the performance below!
