While families around Sydney were brunching with their fathers, Canvas celebrated Daddy’s Day by discussing queer screens, queer bodies and queer politics.

For a sunny Sunday we forgot about biological familial structures and instead thought of the queer communities that we exist in and remembered all of the people who have fought for and built them.

Set to a soundtrack “to penetrate the earholes”, curated by Grant Gibble (AKA DJ Daddy Banga), Frances Barrett was joined by performer Justin Shoulder, filmmaker Anna Helme and artist Emily O’Connor from the collective Hissy Fit, to discuss the role, work and context of queer practitioners in the arts in Sydney.
