Independent Artist Of The Week: Party Dozen
July 3rd 2017
Tanya Bonnie Rae
Experimental duo Party Dozen create abrasive, avant-garde soundscapes based solely on improvisation.
Band members Kirsty Tickle (saxophone) and Jonathan Boulet (percussion) have recently released their full length debut LP ‘The Living Man’. Recorded in studios across London, Sydney and Brisbane, the 9-track album showcases the dazzling sonic partnership of Tickle and Boulet.
The band were living in Berlin when they made the decision to start a music project and swap instruments for fun – and cue, Party Dozen. Their lead single ‘Straights’ is a coarse, driving work of musical art, with a bite that lasts.
