We’re over the moon that Tit Talks is back for its second instalment at The Bearded Tit. This panel spoke about how their own queerness, as well as the queer community, has informed their artistic practise. Curated and moderated by our very own Kilimi Aketi Foketi (host of Sunset with 2K), Tit Talks will interrogate issues around queerness, art and identity.

On this theme, artist Salote Tawale said:

“It was queer communities that saw my work for what it was… it allowed me to grow having a community that understood and were open to different ways of making art. I make art about what I’m about and so the queerness is apart of that as much as any other part of me is.”

These panellists were: queer performance artist and writer Samia Sayed; visual, installation & performance artist Salote Tawale; rapper, community leader and creative director Jamaica Moana; and DJ, DIY arts enthusiast and video/sound artist Ayebatonye Abrakasa.
