STAYFLY

A swift glance at the federal cabinet reminds us that there’s no time like the present to be celebrating girl power.

This weekend, a well-deserved spotlight will shine on the fiercely talented ladies of hip hop, graffiti and street art with the Stayfly Sydney Block Party. Stayfly is community representing female street artists from Sydney and all over the world, taking aim at the ‘boys’ club’ that rules the street scene.

The exhibition will feature works by both local and international female artists, with particular focus on our Australian heroines. As well as visual art, there will be live performances from female emcees and DJs – and if you head down early on Friday night, there’s free drinks from Mountain Goat beer and Alibi American whiskey!

“The Block Party marks the launch of a new community of passionate women who are defining the girls’ corner of the urban movement and exploring Sydney’s potential as a canvas for like-minded ladies.”
