HD-RADIO

Every Monday, Heaps Decent Radio introduces you to a young artist from a disadvantaged community in Sydney, giving them a chance to get their music heard.

For the past couple of months, Arvos presenter Amy Gibbs has been featuring the latest community talent at 5pm on Heaps Decent Radio. The artists featured come from a wide range of disadvantaged and marginalised communities and have participated in one of the Heaps Decent workshops at locations from Redfern to Griffith.

Some of the young artists featured so far include:

Ravin, an eighteen-year-old rapper from Bankstown drawing on his Samoan heritage to create rich textures with brass and percussion

– School students aged five to eight years old from St Therese’s Community School, Wilcannia bringing all their voices together for some adorable tracks

Big ATA rapping about his life experiences growing up in Eastlakes

You can listen back to the tracks from these artists below, and tune in every Monday at 5pm to hear more.
