Label Hunting with Cosmjn & Lizz (Romania): Mantra Collective

Cosmin Năstasă and Petre Vali, aka Cosmjn and Lizz, are two young Romanians turning heads in the minimalist techno/house scene.

Trusted for their taste in stripped back grooves, they’ve played stages from Paris to Berlin, with Cosmjn boasting vinyl releases on Subtil, Naural and Rora. Lizz’s impressive catalogue sits with tastemakers EASTENDERZ, Valioso Recordings and Hoxton Records.

Ahead of their rare Sydney appearance, Mantra Collective hit up Cosmjn and Lizz for their top five labels changing the game.

PERLON

With over 20 years of activity, you can find anything you want on this label. Top stuff in almost any release. One of my favourite releases from Perlon is the ‘Dependent And Happy’ series by Ricardo Villalobos. Here is one of my favourite tracks from the release.

RAUMM MUSIK

Same as Perlon. With almost 20 years of activity, this is one of my favourite labels where I can find good stuff in almost every release.

Established in 2011 by Cezar, since the beginning the label has has the purpose to promote organic/experimental tracks, evolving with the music.

MOMENT RECORDS

Based in 2014 by Barac Nicolae, aka Barac, the label wants to promote tracks that combine rhythm with ambient music, making an unforgettable moment when listening to every track.

MOTIF

Adrian Niculae, aka Priku, is behind this label and has a very well planned purpose: to promote the Romanian sound.
