Independent Artist of the Week :: Bec Sandridge
September 21st 2015
FBi Radio
Sydney-via-Glasgow artist Bec Sandridge flourishes in her 80’s pop reinvention.
You might know Bec Sandridge from her stunning folk-inspired Wild Heart EP from 2013, or from her live gigs supporting acts such as Husky, Rachel Sermani and Passenger. In the two years since that release, Sandridge has abandoned her folk roots, and added an 80’s pop edge to her upcoming In the Fog EP.
While plenty has changed, the elements that made her sound so alluring still remain. On her latest single ‘In the Fog, In the Flame’, Sandridge’s trademark vocals tremble with urgency and power amidst a driving electro-pop instrumental. It’s a perfect blend of vulnerability and pride that makes you want to take on the world, even if you’re not sure if you’ll win in the end.
You can check out ‘In the Fog, In the Flame’ via her Soundcloud.
Tune into Up For It every Monday morning for your new Independent Artist Of The Week!
