Sydney four-piece FLOWERTRUCK show that it takes true genius to make such simple, yet brilliant guitar-pop gems.

FLOWERTRUCK have been a band to look out for since their first single ‘I Wanna Be With You’ in late 2014. The song was a perfect introduction to their infectious combination of witty cynicism paired with laid-back, guitar led instrumentals.

Driven by the power of this first single, they have built a resounding fanbase outside their inner-western-Sydney neighbourhood, toured up and down the Australian coast, and expanded their musical chemistry into a brilliantly solid 5-track EP.

The leading single from this release is the opener ‘Sunshower’. There is something amazingly poignant in lead singer Charles Rushforth’s chant “We need the sun and rain to make the flowers grow”, but what is more astonishing is that it is only the tip of the iceberg of talent that FLOWERTRUCK have to offer.

FLOWERTRUCK just played at the King Street Crawl, but don’t despair – they’ll be back at Deus Ex Machina on October 9. You can also check out their Dirt EP on their Bandcamp.
