Saturday :: Runway Australian Experimental Arts digital launch

This year, Runway magazine said goodbye to print and embraced the digital world, letting us enjoy their take on Australian experimental arts online for free. Their second digital issue launches this weekend featuring works from artists Kate Britton, Lucinda Dayhew, Sumugan Sivanesan, Tim Woodward and more.

Saturday :: Free Comic Book Day

Around the world this coming Saturday, book shops are going to be giving away comics for free to anyone who wants one. Kinokuniya books are participating in Sydney and to celebrate there’ll be an after party at Luna Park.

WHAT: Free comic book day
WHERE: Kinokuniya, Level 2 of The Galleries Victoria, 500 George St
WHEN: Saturday 10am – 7pm. After party  6pm – midnight
HOW MUCH: FREE. But the after party will set you back $25.

Sunday :: Premiere of Tacita Dean’s new work

Internationally acclaimed artist Tacita Dean is turning her creative endeavours to theatre, sound and voice for her first live performance work as part of the Biennale of Sydney. Centred around the filming of a portrait of an actor on stage, the work explores the relationship between the aural and visual. Don’t miss it!

In the most epic crafternoon Sydney has seen, the folk at Unleash Creative are selling golden tickets to a full day of workshops to get the creative juices flowing. Along with a heap of workshops from some pretty inspiring people, the course includes morning tea, lunch and macrons.
