Craft Beer Week :: FBi Radio Red

October 23rd 2012

All over Sydney this week you’ll find a celebration of good beer. Sydney Craft Beer Week is an extravaganza highlighting the best independent beers, brewers, pubs and restaurants from Australia and beyond. And for the first time, FBi Radio is getting in on the action.

To celebrate Sydney Craft Beer Week FBi Radio has teamed up with Enmore based brewery Young Henrys, an eclectic bunch of beer nerds to create our very first beer. We’ve called it the FBi Radio Red and we think you’re gonna love it.

The Beer:

It’s no secret to my friends that I’m a bit of a beer nerd, so excuse me while I freak out at you over some of the finer details of the FBi Radio Red. As the name suggests, the FBi Radio Red is a red ale, but it pours a deep crimson, with a light pale head. I’ll pause now while you laugh. Done? Good. We’ve added Davidson Plum to give it an initial sweet hit, but that will soon disappear leaving your palate with a lightly hoppy aftertaste. All in all it should go down pretty smooth, and for every glass you drink FBi Radio gets a $1 donation, so while you should drink responsibly if you like it why not go back for two or three or more.

Where to find it?

This bad boy of a beer is pretty limited but you can find it at a few select venues around the city. We’d suggest you get in quick, because after this week we doubt you’ll get a chance to try it! For the entirety of Sydney Craft Beer Week the FBi Radio Red will be gushing through the taps at FBi Social, plus a few of our favourite locals.

FBi Social – Level 2/244-248 William Street, Kings Cross

The Union Hotel – 576 King Street, Newtown

The Empire Hotel – 103A Parramatta Road, Annandale

The Roxbury Hotel – 180-182 St Johns Road, Glebe

Harts Pub – 176 Cumberland Street, The Rocks

Midnight Special – 44 Enmore Road, Newtown

… and of course, why not go get one from Young Henrys HQ while you still can? They’re at 76 Wilford Street in Enmore.
