Rowland S. Howard was a musician like no other: one of the world’s most influential indie guitarists and a key part of defining an entire movement of music. This month, we’re teaming up with Golden Age Cinema & Bar to show Autoluminescent: Rowland S. Howard, a documentary featuring archival footage and personal interviews, paying homage to the man who represented a musical movement.

Ahead of the film, Dusty Fingers‘ Marty Doyle compiled a playlist that encapsulates Rowland’s sound and the artists that influenced him. Marty will be introducing the screening on Wednesday night.

Listen to Scott Walker, The Shangri-La’s and Lee Hazlewood, who were all a massive influence on Rowland. You’ll also hear a few of Rowland’s own tracks, both solo and from his 80’s group The Birthday Party. Rowland also produced the first HTRK album, Nostalgia – you can hear him all over tracks like ‘Ha’.

If you’re an FBi Supporter, you could be heading along to the screening for free! Click here for more details.
