A perfect picnic for a loved up comedy

A wild britcom that brings you a love sqiggle in an ever romantic picnic setting. The plot can only be described as one of “love had, love lost, and love somewhere in the middle but definitely on the exciting side.

Sydney’s best and brightest artists line up!

Each year the MCA gets a special guest to curate their annual exhibition of emerging contemporary artists. This year the Sydney based Aboriginal artist Nicole Foreshew has drawn together a stella group of these impressive under 35s. It is always a good survey of what makes our young artists tick. This year all the artists seem to be connected by the ‘global south’ exploring the mix bag of cultures and identities we are all a part of.

The Wizard of Political Satire

Friday 25th

Hard hitting comedy

The dynamic duo of ‘The Culture’ Laura Jackson and Michael Blakeley bring you a critical social commentary that will make you laugh and then make you think. A play that hopes to tackle social issues and fight the existing culture.

Latin American Film Festival

The Latin American Film Festival turns ten this year and in true latin style they are throwing one hell of a party. Along with a screening of the multi award winning film Los Hongos there will be latin party music and everything from empanadas to arepas.

Silent Dinner Party

For most of us who consider a dinner party a social occasion the Fringe festival is shaking up the social norms. The Silent Dinner Party is exactly as it sounds, no talking no writing just silence. Sydney’s Studio NEON chefs will be providing the captivating menu so you can stimulate your sense instead of your conversation.

Feminist Fronts

During September Verge Gallery will be exhibiting three shows that touch on issues of gender, identity, equality, unpaid labour, feminism, protest and activism. These exhibitions are accompanied by a huge public program including panel discussions, social gatherings and live music events. Watch this space.

Surry Hill Festival

Surry Hills festival is taking over the town once again for the annual spring time bonanza. There will be live art, craft, music and pop up just about everything. Follow the Creative Trail of cultural talks and exhibitions, create your own craft blanket with the Picnic Blanket Story Project or lap up the gentle sounds of local band Noire.

Craft Beer and Idea Bombs

Dan Illic, the man who brought you Hungry Beast and A Rational Fear is going head to head with Oscar McMahon, the man who brought Young Henry’s into our lives. Combining two completely unrelated topics in a series of learning things you never knew, Two Up for another round of stimulating thoughts and exciting discussions.
