Sydney’s best and brightest artists line up!

Each year the MCA gets a special guest to curate their annual exhibition of emerging contemporary artists. This year the Sydney based Aboriginal artist Nicole Foreshew has drawn together a stella group of these impressive under 35s. It is always a good survey of what makes our young artists tick. This year all the artists seem to be connected by the ‘global south’ exploring the mix bag of cultures and identities we are all a part of.

Latin American Film Festival

The Latin American Film Festival turns ten this year and in true latin style they are throwing one hell of a party. Along with a screening of the multi award winning film Los Hongos there will be latin party music and everything from empanadas to arepas.

Feminist Fronts

During September Verge Gallery will be exhibiting three shows that touch on issues of gender, identity, equality, unpaid labour, feminism, protest and activism. Surry Hill Festival

Surry Hills festival is taking over the town once again for the annual spring time bonanza. There will be live art, craft, music and pop up just about everything.
