Friday :: Details Unknown Part 2

An intimate, raw and hauntingly beautiful record of the mysterious people and dark places of a Sydney lost,” is how the Sydney Living Museum’s exhibition City of Shadows has been described. Into the shadows step Sydney storytelling collective Penguin Plays Rough with part two of their story trilogy Details Unknown. Head there tonight to see a mixed bag of comedians, playwrights and other word-workers build stories into the mystery.

Saturday ::  Tiny Stadiums Festival

Erskineville’s rooftops, gardens, shop fronts and Town Hall have been taken over by artists, comedians, playwrights, food trucks and delicious slow coffee for the Tiny Stadiums Festival. It ends this weekend so better get in quick.

Ongoing :: Voodoo Flowers Paris

Artist, Gallery Director, curator and art collector Graham Blondel is putting on his first solo show in two years. Expect quirky voodoo sculptures, paintings with epic flower motifs and collages inspired by Paris.

Friday & Saturday :: The Heart of Punchbowl

aMBUSH Gallery has partnered with SBS to present an exhibition of photos by Andrew Quilty  and content by accomplished journalist Jackie Dent, that gives an intimate look into the lives of Punchbowl’s Lebanese community. It’s been commissioned as part of SBS’s Once Upon a Time in Punchbowl series and includes characters like Charbel and Charbel who regularly feed the homeless; Wasim and Zeina, a married couple that run the Muslim section of Rookwood cemetery; and international boxing sensation Billy the Kid and his cousin Reyad.
