Going on a road trip soon? Scratch the first song from your playlist (yes, we know you’ve already made it) because our surf-rocking Unsigned Artists of the Week, The Upskirts, have you covered.

The band is made up of total dudes Tom Kell, Nick Stillman, Harry Tuckwell and Mitch Noakes. Surfy, psychedelic, and mind-bogglingly awesome, the Sydney four-piece have been hanging around the stage a fair bit recently. They’ve played with the likes King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Dune Rats and World’s End Press which should give you a bit of a hint at both their diversity and energy levels.

Luckily for us, they have spent their time off-stage writing and recording a few tunes- apparently inspired by entities such as nuggets, facepaint, VCRs and lady parts. All this writing and recording, presumably done in a dirty garage close to the beach, means there is an EP due out fairly soon. If their most recent single, ‘Mind’s A Burden’, is anything to go by you can expect a swirling, building, smash-together of the most groovy business music has to offer. Oh yeah.

You can check out their textured and organic sounds live when they hit up Oxford Art Factory later this month.
