Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Sonny & The Sunsets and Tiny Ruins Team up for FBi

February 3rd 2011

Want to come to church with FBi? Perhaps we should explain first.

We’re stoked to announce that we’ll be holding a very special FBi benefit on March 8th with three incredible international acts: Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Sonny & the Sunsets and Tiny Ruins. It’s happening at The Church on Chalmers — 142 Chalmers St, Surry Hills.

Hailing from Sweden, husband-wife duo Wildbirds and Peacedrums create powerful, percussive and undeniably pretty experimental pop. Their live show has been called a “truly reverential experience” by The Fly, so it’s only fitting that we’ve got them to play a church.

To bring a bit of summery cheer to proceedings, we’ve also got California popsters Sonny & the Sunsets bringing their loose, garagey gems to the stage. Of course, we’re in a church… so we’ve got them performing a very special acoustic set.

And finally, New Zealand’s adorable Tiny Ruins. If you caught her support slot for Alasdair Roberts last year you’ll already be enamoured, and for the rest… get ready. With a debut album coming soon on Spunk Records, she’s sure to take off as soon as her gorgeous folk songs are unleashed to the world. Catch her performing them live now, enjoy the bragging rights later.

Want to be a part of this near-religious experience? Buy your tickets now. Just $18+bf for supporters or $23+bf for everyone else from Moshtix. $28 on the door, if there’s any left
