I’m sitting in front of the computer watching the debut efforts from +TEES+ and feeling distinctly nineties.

Maybe it’s the B&W stylings and synth of “Playground” as it runs whimsically around Sydney. The deceptively simple lyrics are awash with nostalgia and mesh well with the blurred, fleeting memory of the accompanying video.

TEES are Lizzy Tillman, from Sydney psych band The Grease Arrestor, and Sean Duarte, from Virgo Rising. With those credentials in mind, this new collaboration sounds nothing like it should – but that’s a blessed thing. The duo’s facebook drops the tasty, teaser quote…

The duo seem determined to live the dream melding early house and pop hooks that both nod to the past and expand into its future. Keep an ear on this pair.
