After unexpectedly being pulled up into the nosebleed section of the Hype Machine charts, Little May’s ‘Hide’ gets its own music video

This trio of young Sydneysiders who call themselves Little May have put together an enchanting combination of whispering vocals and delicate harmonies for ‘Hide’. It’s all very lovely and will soothe your ears and your soul, but realistically it’s gotta be the intricate banjo licks that made blogs all over the world support this tune, right? Well, whatever the motivation, it happened, and ‘Hide’ was pushed to the pointy end of blog aggregator Hype Machine‘s popularity chart.

You can hear what all the fuss is about below.

Little May chose multi-talented man Sean Dooley to take the reigns of direction, cinematography and even a sneaky bit of acting in the clip. Dooley has worked with the likes of Hattie Carroll and Castlecomer and also happened to make the video for Little May’s first single, ‘Boardwalks’, so they knew what they were in for. He did a particularly excellent job on the end of the; it’s hypnotic how the women circle the blazing fire in dance. It’s tribal, it’s powerful and it succeeds in serving the song – the most important feature of any film clip.

You can catch Little May next Thursday at The Workers Club in Balmain for free, and follow them on their east coast tour in December.
