Every so often, a bizarro pairing comes around. Kid Cudi and Best Coast. The Hives and Jay-Z. From opposite musical realms, collaborations between the most unlikely of music makers often find a will and a way.

Sydney lad, Danimals mastermind and all-round nice guy Jonti has found himself collaborating with the likes of notorious provocateur and OFWGKTA member Hodgy Beats on a shiny new tune released last week.

According to music industry news portal The Music Network, on Tuesday night, Jonti joined forces with HB to create a tune in 24 hours, resulting in the laid-back, swaggering tune 'Nagoya', named after the Japanese city. He told TMN that Hodgy was not the only hip-hop mind involved, noting the hands-on help from G-Unit member Tony Yayo: "I went into the booth to do my thing, looked up and Tony Yayo is choppin' it up in the main room!"

A long-time lover from the Aussie electronic scene, Jonti is based in LA for the rest of this year, promoting his debut album for his US label, Stones Throw. Jonti was signed to the label earlier this year, and the highly anticipated album will drop later this week on October 14 locally on Mistletone / Inertia in Australia.

'Nagoya' was released through Hodgy’s tumblr on this month. Check out the unlikely collaboration here.
