Unsigned Artist of the Month: Left

Local duo Left. sound like the teenage love story of Sydney’s inner west.
One half raised with a guitar in hand, the other blessed with the voice of the girl-next-door, their music flirts over a bed of synth beats and swirling, whispered somethings. With only three songs posted online, this glorious collaboration between vocalist Sarah Corry and Made In Japan guitarist Jono Graham is only fledgling, but it’s a musical romance we’re happy to watch unfurl.
Beneath the sweetness, hip hop influences anchor their sound thanks to producer Adit Gauchan (Horrorshow) and a little love from FBi’s Joyride. Swinging to a different corner, the duo are also influenced by good friends from The Middle East – Bree Tranter and Rohin Jones. Graham says that this mix of influences has “opened our eyes to a lot of variables in the artistic,” which comes through in the slightly eclectic, compelling and always harmonious sound of Left.
Think contemporary pop-electronica… but a little to the left.
