Christmas Spirit :: Select Music Christmas Party + Mixtape

December 5th 2012

Does your Christmas revolve solely on spinning Mariah Carey’s 1994 Christmas album and playing on repeat the Home Alone franchise 1-5? Well hey, there’s no judging here, but there’s probably only so many times you can listen to Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and watch a child sized Macaulay Culkin set up multiple, very clever booby traps on grown adult robbers, right?

“But there’s no good Christmas music! It all stinks! I want to punch carolers in their vocal chords!” … is what I hear you yelling. Ok, well after you check into The Psychiatric Ward for People Who Have Extreme Aggression Towards Christmas,  please take a minute out of your day to listen to Select Music’s Christmas Mixtape below.

You see, the last thing we want is you to be sitting home alone this Christmas, suffering the slings and arrows of (or like most people, secretly enjoying) Mariah Carey’s ‘Merry Christmas’ album. Despite this, Millions do a bloody great cover of Carey, above. Please put on repeat.

Our friends at Select Music & Mum at The World Bar know good Christmas music. In fact, they are putting on a whopping big Christmas Party featuring Nantes, Andy Bull, The Preatures, Step-Panther, Toucan, Tokyo Denmark Sweden, The Walking Who and DJ sets from Jake Stone (Bluejuice), DZ Deathrays,Hungry Kids of Hungary, Rüfüs, The Holidays and Elizabeth Rose.
