Preview: Olof Arnalds

February 3rd 2011

You may have heard a massive crack resonate across town a few weeks back. That was the sound of hearts breaking when Ólöf ArnaldsSydney Festival Spiegeltent shows sold out.

Happily, freak folk funsters CocoRosie have stepped in to save the day. They’ve announced the Icelandic indie darling as support for their upcoming, un-sold-out Opera House gig. This will be one fine night of dreamy vocals, stormy strings and weird moustaches.

Have a geez at the clip for Arnald’s darkly beautiful track Surrender. Filmed in Iceland’s Þingvellir (say it out loud or you’re banned from the Flog) National Park, the rainy clip features lush scenery and family-unfriendly dance moves. Listen out for Björk wailing valiantly in the background.
