Listen :: Sures Pick 5 Tracks for Summer

November 19th 2013

Sures3

School’s out for summer (thank Yeezus) and we’re putting on a massive party to celebrate! Consider it FBi’s way of whispering spring break, spring break, spring break foreverrr in your ear, but less creepy than a dreadlocked James Franco and no-one will get shot at the pool party. (We can’t promise there won’t be any heart-wrenching Britney Spears covers though…)

Uni Shmooney is hitting up FBi Social this Saturday the 23rd of November. Featuring Sures, Naughty Rappers Collective, Jenny Broke the Window and stacks more. The night is guaranteed to chase all learning out of your brain and prep you for a long summer of not studying, not attending classes and listening to awesome tunes…

To chase away the study blues Matt, Simon and Jonas from Sures gave us their favourite summer tracks to help revive that sunshine feeling…

1. Teen Sensations – Get Fit For Summer

I chose Teen Sensations “Get Fit For Summer” because it is permanently playing when I see douchebags around trying to highlight the days workout focus. It makes it all the more funny when that song is in your head as these moments occur. – Simon

2. Pity Sex – Wind Up

This is the opening track on Pity Sex’s latest album Feast Of Love. Definitely one that’s going to be on repeat for our summer road trips!

I’ve listened to it on every long car trip since it came out, and don’t see myself stopping any time soon. Great album. – Jonas

3. Au.Ra – Sun

Au.Ra is the silver lining to the raincloud that was Parades breaking up, this song carries on the ambient electro-band groove they were working towards. It sounds like a hazy dream, chuck it on any lazy day this summer for max chills. – Matt

4. White+ – Red+

This could well be my favourite song of all time. There’s an energy to it that is completely unlike anything i’ve ever heard and it makes me excited about life. – Jonas

5. American Football – Never Meant

This sounds like what i wanted to listen to in the early 2000’s when i was an aspiring emo kid. I loved everything about this song as soon as i heard it, jangly guitars, intricate drum lines, unconventional structure and even the random ass intro. This track may be tinged with emotional nostalgia but it reeks good vibes. – Matt
