FBi’s resident insomniac and dancefloor demon Sandro “Big Friendly Giant” Dallarmi has bumped out a tight little mixtape that kneads classic soul pumping jams into slick, modern production.

Working under the Fingerguns moniker, his motivation for the following head-nodding 11 minutes spurs from trends in the UK dance music scene. Producers like Bondax are starting to be considered the 21st century’s answer to r&b, so why not put classic sounds from soul and hip hop right next to those glossy new sounds. George Maple crooning over a blend of Snakehips & J Dilla? I can probably deal with that.

Basically, if you’ve grown a bit sick of incessant 808 kicks and skittering hi-hats (‘REE-YAL TRAP SHE-IT’ etc) you could probably do with a sustained burst of feel-good head nodding. It’s also highly recommended for amputees, the mentally ill, and generally cranky people. There’s about 20 tracks/samples in 11 minutes too, so it’s unlikely that you’ll nod off to sleep.
