Independent Artist of the Week :: Polish Club

Sydney’s Polish Club are a garage-punk explosion crammed into a two-man powerhouse.

While you might think their instrumentation would be uncomfortably sparse, lead singer Novak’s ferociously bluesy vocals and the powerful drumming of John-Henry fill out your headphones with an astounding sound. They take pride in their retro heritage, claiming that they play “pop songs fifty years late and twice the speed”, but at the same time they carry an air of youthful exuberance and originality that tugs at your inner rebel.

On their upcoming debut EP (out October 23), they have continued their hard-rockin’ philosophy, as evident from their most recent single ‘Beeping’, which is best described as a 2¾-minute firestorm of bluesy pop goodness.

If you love what you’re hearing and need a pre-EP fix, check out their SoundCloud here – and you can catch them supporting Loon Lake at their farewell show at the end of this month.
