Sydney duo MEZKO deliver pared back kraut-pop that grooves on the bleeding edge of coolness.

Originally from Perth and Canberra, Laura Bailey and Kat Harley joined forces, found a home in Sydney, and quickly found success with their striding, Kavinsky-esque synth tracks.

They have earned their place in some of Sydney’s coolest events, from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard‘s Gizzfest to festivals such as Heaps Gay x Vivid and Volumes – all from the merits of their stellar singles.

Listening to their most recent track ‘Golden’, it’s easy to see why. Their reliance on self-production and release has paid dividends, allowing their breathy, nonchalant vocals to come to life under 80’s style drum machine pops and expansive synth beats.

The track combines nostalgia and futurism with an intoxicating confidence, letting their audience know that they’re ready to bring their extraordinary talents wherever fate takes them.
