Melbourne duo Philosophy of Sound have been letting glorious rays of praise heat their skin as feedback for their soon-to-be-released Fragile Disco EP rolls in. Most notably, Belgian producer and DJ The Magician has sung the praises of the band’s EP and label, Discotexas – which is particularly blushworthy coming from a man who is currently in cahoots with fellow disco fiend and certified French groovemaster Yuksek.

As luck would have it, the unquestionably attractive beasts over at Acid Stag put together a tasty mix of disco house and other such things on our very own airwaves last Sunday. You can let your ears have a peep at that below; maybe they’ll even catch a glimpse of some material from Fragile Disco.

Okay sweet, I just went out the back and found another punnet of luck (they’re everywhere here at FBi!). I can happily inform you that we will be giving away TWO VINYL COPIES of the Philosophy of Sound EP, paired up with a couple of DOUBLE PASSES to the EP launch party at Brighton Up Bar on the 29th. Let’s just say it’s going to be a good time. I mean, we’re talking more neck-snapping grooves than you can poke your disco stick at, to the extent where you’ll be thankful that you can’t remember your off-every-hook dance moves the next morning.

Unfortunately we can’t go around throwing away tickets and records willy nilly, so speaking of the philosophy of sound, we’re gonna need you to overanalyse the shit out of the following vaguely disco-related song until you can present us with an extremely brief thesis on your eternally-wise, philosophical viewpoint of the weirdness that goes down in this video. It gets pretty sensual just after the latter days Earth, Wind and Fire vocalist hits THAT note.
