ILUKA’s live set at FBi Social back in July, left us giddy on an alliteration high: smooth, soulful, smoky, seductive, sassy…. we were spellbound, left mumbling a string of adjectives in an effort to grant the Sydney songbird justice.

With a sound that is truly her own, it’s as though ILUKA’s Nikki Thorburn has swallowed up the ghosts of her idols – Nancy Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin – and taken them kerouacing in a ’49 Hudson with Dusty Springfield and Jim Morrison along for the ride.

Since launching dual EPs in 2011: ‘To The Place’ and ‘Eyes Closed’, ILUKA has stood firmly behind her vocation launching her latest and most defining EP ‘Paper Doll’ earlier this year.  And what better way to wrap 2012 than by offering you folks, a little piece of said sassiness.  Three of the tracks recorded live at FBi Social: ‘Roll Me Like A Stone’, ‘Paper Doll’ and ‘Delores & The Business Man’, are now available as a free download!  Throw it on your playlist and anyone – with ears, will be pounding their fists for more.
