Exclusive Mix :: Floria for The Mixing Bowl [[March Mix]]

March 14th 2014

 WHite 1

Floria’s appeal lies in the way he mixes genres together (namely RnB and techno), but the way he mixes songs together isn’t too shabby either.

I interviewed Tristan Agostino last September for The Mixing Bowl‘s mix/interview series Fade Up and he told me “I’ve gotta come down to Sydney! That’s where it’s at, I’d love to check out a Motorik party”. In his many visits to Sydney since then, the Brisbane producer has managed to find his way onto the line up of a Motorik party and into the hearts of the Motorik crew.

Tristan performs under the name Floria, and apart from playing at great techno parties, he’s also finding new audiences through Stoney Roads’ Volume Two compilation, and this – his place as one of four resident DJs for autumn on FBi. Alongside him are, Tink, Terace and Platform 19 – each of them pushing out one mix per month, each artist very different from the next – and Floria’s first mix was a monstrous way to kick things off.

Things start out raucous, get down deeper in the middle, and then surge up again towards the end, but I won’t spoil too much. Hit play and let Floria tell you what surprises he’s got up his sleeve.
