Sydney Ideas - The Spectacle of Justice in Postwar East Asia

War is not about respecting boundaries but about breaking them. The end of war, by contrast, centres on re-establishing those borders, usually in very different physical locations. Such dislocation can often serve to mask what really happened in the twilight between the end of war and the postwar because our assumptions are no longer valid.

No Lights No Lycra

What is it?
It’s simple; there is No Lights, No Lycra, No Steps, No Technique just free movement. An hour of dancing in the dark as if no one else is watching well, literally no one else is watching!
Why?
It’s a feeling you can only experience in the room. Feeling your body and mind in complete abandonment and dancing your tush off. An hour each week where you can completely let go and shake out the stresses of the week.

On Rove McManus: “Rove McManus has never been lost for words but it’s time to actually put that to the test. Uncovering Argentina

Mankind has produced enough plastic to completely cover the country of Argentina – and only 8% of all plastic is ever recycled. We know that by 2050 there will more plastic in the oceans than fish. Uncovering Argentina invites artists to consider how we might begin to deal with our plastic problem, in a group show featuring artists from the Blue Mountains, Sydney and Adelaide. Artists and designers Rachel Peachy and Paul Mosig, in their work Fool’s Gold, have depicted the waxworm, a type of caterpillar that eats plastic, and has been posited as a solution to our plastic problem.
