The Fire Burns On – Opening & Artist Talk
The images in this exhibition are a document of the last 12 months of life at the tent embassy at The Block, set up by Aunty Jenny Munro and her supporters in May 2014. The Embassy was set up as an assertion of sovereignty and to champion low-cost housing for Aboriginal families. The exhibition is part of Head On Photo Festival, and opening night will also host an Artist Talk from a number of artists involved in the exhibition.

The Bear Pack

German Film Festival

Join acclaimed local poet Deb Westbury in conversation with Whispering Trees sound artists Damian Castaldi and Solange Kershaw, poets Mark O’Flynn, Vanessa Kirkpatrick, Craig Billingham, and Emma Brazil, and writer Amanda Kaye. They discuss their creative process, and how poetry and story experienced as sound in place, rather than words on a page, impacts on writers and audiences.
