Not long after this photo was taken, Brooke Olsen & Scarlett Di Maio started an experimental radio show. Now, they’re coming full circle with a new collaborative soundtrack from the show’s very first contributors.

Premiering on Ears Have Ears tonight, the work, titled ‘Journey Towards Death’ was created by sound artists James Domeyko and Shane Fahey. Pulled together over a stay at Shane’s place in northern NSW, it combines studio, home and field recordings to create varied sound worlds. Just like the duo’s previous soundtrack, the new piece combines James and Shane’s complementary skills across composition, sound treatment and synthesis.

In celebration of six years of Ears Have Ears and the show’s thousands of hours of experimental sounds, Brooke and Scareltt are throwing it back to the very beginning. Revisit the very first contribution to the show – created by James and Shane,  soundtrack #1 is called ‘Her Golden Threads Burned for The Birth of Daylight’:
