Sydney Reclink Community Cup 2016

Cost/Tickets

$5 donation at the gate

Location

Henson Park, Marrickville

The Reclink Community Cup, the much-adored charity football series that pits musicians against media, is back for 2016!

This year it’s going national – with matches in its city of origin Melbourne; plus Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Brisbane and right here in Sydney.

Come and watch the Sydney Sailors (local media personalities, including some of your faves from FBi) play the Western Walers (hard-nosed musicians, including members of Sticky Fingers, Smudge, Urthboy, Why We Run and more – plus local MP Anthony “DJ Albo” Albanese) at Henson Park on Sunday, August 14.

The Sailors have thus far managed to dominate with an impressive four victories – and we’re ready for a fifth!

The Community Cup raises funds for Reclink Australia – an organisation that delivers sport, recreation and arts programs for some of the community’s most vulnerable and isolated people – those experiencing mental illness, disability, homelessness, substance abuse, addiction, and social and economic hardship.

Gates open 12pm. First bounce 2pm. Entry is $5 at the gate. This is a family & pet friendly event – NO BYO alcohol.

There will be food stalls from Cantina Movil, Suzy Spoon’s Vegetarian Butcher, Craft Partners and Serendipity Ice Cream available on the day, plus beverages supplied by Young Henrys.

Keep up to date – join the facebook event.

AFTERPARTY:

After the game, we’ll be heading to the Vic on the Park Hotel. It’s a short walk from the ground, but the Vic have also sorted a bus to take punters to the venue. Come and celebrate with the players, with live music from The Persian Drugs and RACKETT. It’s free – more info here.
