SMAC OF THE YEAR – Hana Shimada and Jimmy Sing, Goodgod

The 2010 SMAC of the Year winners have changed our attitude to a night out in the Sydney CBD. Hana Shimada and Jimmy Sing created much more than a venue when they established Goodgod Small Club in an old Spanish restaurant on Liverpool Street. Their dream was to create a space that offered more than Sydney’s established moulds of pub, wine bar or bangin’ nightclub. GOODGOD pushes itself to stay ahead of the curve and recognise the most exciting new sounds and artists. That sweaty stage has held Seekae, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Royal Headache, Diplo, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Spank Rock, De La Soul and many more. But thanks to Jimmy and Hana, Goodgod isn’t just a stage and a dance floor, it’s a home.
