Ben Houghton brings a taste of Melbourne’s house & techno scene to Pure Space
July 12th 2017
Melbourne producer Ben Houghton runs house and techno label Momentary Records with a focus on supporting his local music community, and now seems to be a particularly exciting time down south.
“The talent and diversity in the scene is unbelievable,” Houghton gushed to Andy Garvey before his mix aired on Pure Space. “It’s just really flouring at the moment and I think it’s a great time for the city”. With his decks and a crate full of crunchy, analogue sounds, Ben Houghton shows us exactly what he’s talking about.
András, Rudolf C and Momentary’s own Rambl all represent Melbourne in the mix, alongside a few tracks from Houghton himself. The hour also pushes through “a lot of Berlin and a lot of everything really”, winding up with a spaced-out trip through some of house music’s darker flavours. Launch it below.
