Since their first Festival in 1997 Sydney Writers’ Fest has consistently brought together a broad and engaged community around the sharing of books, writing and ideas.

Running from the 22nd–28th of May with over 400 writers taking part in more than 300 conversations, debates, performances and panel discussions, the 2023 Festival is set to be a great another great of showcase the best new ideas, stories and voices.

Events are happening all over Sydney, including at Carriageworks and Sydney Town Hall, as well as further out in various neighbourhoods including Parramatta, Chatswood, Penrith, and Wollongong.
