Representation & Appropriation
On this week's show artist Julie Rrap came into the studio to talk about her work in ACP's exhibition 'Dear Silvia' and her 25 year practice which explores representations of the female body. Musician Rainbow Chan presented an essay she wrote on Fatima Al Qadiri's album 'Asiatisch' and Chinese cultural appropriation. Academic Louise Mayhew spoke about her upcoming curatorial project at Verge Gallery 'Girls at the Tin Sheds' which highlights the extraordinary breadth of posters created by women at Tin Sheds in the 70’s and 80’s. And Verge Gallery Manager Sian McIntyre talked about Verge's exciting 2015 program. The music was curated by artist Mitch Cumming to the theme of 'Sunday' and included tracks by Xiu Xiu, Neil Young and Shin Joong & The Donkeys.
