Preview :: Low Motion at Goodgod

July 15th 2011

FBi's Max Gosford is taking Low Motion live with a brand new night at Goodgod that'll teach you all you need to know about bass music. We had a quick chat to Max this morning. He seemed pretty chill, considering it all kicks off in just a few hours.

Flog: What's this night all about?
Max: It's about bass music. Dubstep has really exploded on the Sydney clubbing scene in the last year or so, however the main sound getting pushed is this really agressive mosh pit type stuff. Low Motion is about exploring the fringes of dubstep and where it collides with house, garage and techno music. Experimental, forward thinking music that is still geared to the dance floor.

Who's playing?
A top local line up of DJs who are really pushing this sound in sydney. Moriarty from Ro Sham Bo, who has kept Sydney informed in development in bass and club music for years through Tuesday Sunsets on FBi; Preacha, a regular DJ at Void nights who spends all his cash on buying the freshest records, and Joe Gadget from Generic Collective who are doing awesome things for Bass music in Sydney. Local producers are also represented on the night with Kid Fiction opening up proceedings with a live set banged out of his sampler and Bardeya closing up the night with a darker Berlin techno influenced set.

Is this going to be a regular thing at GoodGod?
If this one goes well it could be.

Can you give us a taste of what "colourful dubstep, fruity house and skippy garage riddims"  sounds like?
Something like this.

Why won't there be any guys with their shirts off?
'Cause I'm not allowing it. No one wants to brush up against a sweaty dude.
