‘Kindness: little acts, big impacts!’
This is the tagline for this year’s Mental Health Month, and it’s sparked a group of UTS students to put on a little act of kindness themselves: a charity event called ‘Express Yourself‘.
Embracing the theme of personal expression, the students have curated an evening of street art, music and creative collaboration, encouraging a healthy dose of self-expression. The chilled-out space of the Loft Bar at UTS Broadway will be taken over by creative workshops, live tunes and a smattering of blank canvases ready for the attacking – so bring your sharpie!
All artwork and pieces for sale on the night has been donated by the UTS community – including street art, photographic series and fashion accessories created by UTS graduates.

A selection of work by Annie Everingham, one of the local artists donating her work to the event.
There’s also a stack of local Sydney bands providing a soundtrack for the night, including Something She Wrote, Bears with Guns, Maiko, Alistare and BAMBII.
Express Yourself will donate all profits to SANE Australia – an organisation committed to supporting Australians suffering from mental illness and the stigma attached to it.
