The 2011 SMAC of the year recognises someone who as a rule stays out of the spotlight. Millie Millgate has made a huge difference to the Australian music industry but you won’t necessarily know her name. With a background in events, artist management and venue booking, she was the Creative Director of Music NSW and now heads up Sounds Australia. In her current position, she works tirelessly for any Aussie musicians heading overseas, making sure they get the absolute most out of showcase or network opportunities.
