We’re looking for people with a burning passion for top-notch local music / arts / culture / all of the above. If you want to learn how to make radio with us, we want to hear from you.

APPLY NOW

Fill out this form telling us a bit about yourself and the type of music you love.

Applications close at 11.59pm on Tuesday February 21, 2023.

To discuss alternative application formats (audio, video etc) or if you have any other questions at all, drop us a line at training@fbiradio.com.

THE VERY IMPORTANT FINE PRINT

Once applications close and we’ve had a chance to go through them all, group auditions will be held at FBi Radio in Alexandria.

The training course will run through March – April. Sessions will be held on weeknights, outside business hours, over 6 weeks. You must attend all sessions. You’ll get a crash course in media law, writing for radio, panelling and more.

After the training course you must commit to a minimum of 6 months on-air – presenting one ‘Allnighter’ program per fortnight. These shifts are 1-6am weeknights or 2-7am weekends.

Most of our regular presenters started by doing this course and presenting Allnighters. FBi has a great volunteer culture and you’ll get valuable media experience – but we won’t kid you, Allnighters can be tough. If now is a bad time for you to commit to learning radio for a minimum of 6 months, then please do not apply in this round. We run training a couple of times each year.

FBi Radio is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to a thriving and equitable workplace culture. We strongly encourage applications from First Nations peoples, and people of all ethnicities, genders, orientations and abilities.
