July 9th 2018

  • The Hon Linda Burney :: Interview with Bridie Tanner

Inspirational Federal Member for Barton the Hon Linda Burney spoke to Bridie Tanner on Mornings, ahead of her keynote speech at Sydney University’s NAIDOC celebrations.

As the first Aboriginal person elected to the NSW Parliament and the first Aboriginal woman to serve in the Australian House of Representatives, Linda has plenty of connection to this year’s NAIDOC week theme ‘Because of Her, We Can!’

She talked about the resilience and generosity of Indigenous women, the importance of respecting the wisdom of Elders and her message for the next generation of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women entering politics – find your narrative and let it define your voice.
