Premiering at the 2017 Venice Film Festival, Jason Raftopoulos’ WEST OF SUNSHINE tells the story of Jim (Damian Hill), trapped in a perpetual cycle of gambling and debt, as he desperately attempts to repay a violent loan shark (Tony Nikolakopoulos).

Unfolding over the course of a day, Jim must pay back his debt by any means necessary, all while being forced to look after his son (Ty Perham, Hill’s real-life stepson).

WEST OF SUNSHINE is in cinemas nationally on August 23.
