Master auteur Michael Haneke returns with this bourgeois satire set in the shadow of the European refugee crisis. When her mother falls ill under mysterious circumstances, young Eve is sent to live with her wealthy, neurotic and self-obsessed relatives. Distracted by intergenerational back-stabbings and infidelities, the family fails to notice that their new arrival has a sinister secret of her own.

Nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes, Happy End bears all the hallmarks of Haneke’s unique style and features a cast of top acting talent, including Isabelle Huppert and Jean-Louis Trintignant.

Happy End is in cinemas February 8.
