Directors In Conversation
“Widely hailed for his intense yet meditative feature films, Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s strong support for creative and political freedom and his bold stance against censorship is one of Thailand’s best known film directors, writers and installation artists. He was the first Southeast Asian filmmaker to win the prestigious Palme d’Or prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010, among many other awards. In a special evening at the FCCT, he will be in conversation with Kong Rithdee, deputy director of the Thai Film Archives and one of Thailand’s best known film and literary critics and translators.”

“Bidding is now open on over 160 artworks donated by 139 artists from across Australia. Now is the time to come together and celebrate artists supporting artists. When you buy an artwork at the Firstdraft Auction, half of the sale helps us pay fees to every artist who participates in our program, while the other half is paid as commission to the artist who donated it. Put simply, 100% of your money goes back to artists.”
This live art auction is continuing till the 22nd of August, click here for more information!

The mind by nature is always active, even when we sleep, our minds are still constantly working and providing us with false promises of happiness. Give your mind a break with this easy form of meditation and discover how peacefulness and happiness can be found within.”
