“Widely hailed for his intense yet meditative feature films, Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s strong support for creative and political freedom and his bold stance against censorship is one of Thailand’s best known film directors, writers and installation artists. He was the first Southeast Asian filmmaker to win the prestigious Palme d’Or prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010, among many other awards. In a special evening at the FCCT, he will be in conversation with Kong Rithdee, deputy director of the Thai Film Archives and one of Thailand’s best known film and literary critics and translators.

“Online Creative Connections is an art workshop for those with anxiety, depression or mental health issues and is a space to connect online during lockdown. Facilitated by a qualified Art Therapist this will be a safe space to chat and work together. Connect over Zoom while making masterpieces in the comfort of your own home.This workshop requires participants to have access to their own materials and to choose an art project you would like to work on. Projects can be as simple as a pen and paper to draw, your latest knitting project or something you’ve always wanted to try making and creating with.”
