Surface Tension

Re-Launch

Re-Launch is the first exhibition @ AD Space for 2017 presenting the work of 35 Sydney based artists. The artists are comprised of current UNSW Art & Design Students, Staff and Alumni. Writing Around Sound 3

Queer Art After Hours

Threadbare: Costuming the body

What makes a body feminine? Who defines the margins of female form? How does the gendered experience exercise control over our bodies? As part of Art Month Sydney, Rafaela Pandolfini and Katie Maling look closer at the feminine, having collaborated with a series of performers to wrap, strap, bind and fold flesh in ways that expand our visions of womanhood.

The Distance Between

Sydney-based artist Sam Holt’s paintings are founded in reflection and commentary on the divergent paths we take towards an authentic life. His paintings are a visceral and spontaneous collage of the maverick artist’s responses, revelations, meanderings and speculations.

Anthropocene

The first iteration of Antidote is an exploration of the female body and the land on which it survives and thrives. Themed ‘Anthropocene’, the works manifest subversive views of this newly discovered and somewhat contentious geological epoch, in which the earth is defined by its negative interaction with human kind.
