The Life and Times of Frida Kahlo

The Life and Times of Frida Kahlo is an intimate biography of a woman who gracefully balanced a private life of illness and pain, against a public persona that was flamboyant, irreverent and world-renowned. Kahlo was an eyewitness to a unique pairing of revolution and renaissance that defined the times in which she lived.

Movement Lab #6 led by Justin Shoulder

Head along for two hours of movement led by guest emerging and established performance artists. During the workshop these artists will demonstrate how they engage the body in their practice and lead you in movement exercises, teaching you how to use your body in performance and how you can apply this to your own practice.

Elvis Richardson: Time Frames

 

Time Frames brings together new works from the Settlement series formulated around images captured as low res iPad screenshots while viewing real-estate advertisements in Australia. My Settlement search criteria is a two bedroom property in which to live with my family for under $250,000, which is the maximum limit of a loan I am capable of servicing on my income as an artist and part-time lecturer.

Dean Cross: Clothing Store Workshop

Artists are invited to join us at The Clothing Store Artist Studios with resident Dean Cross for an open discussion on what it means to be an ’emerging’ artist. A pseudo group therapy session, discuss do’s and dont’s, share fears, annoyances, ambitions in a closed-door safe space. Engage as artists without necessarily having to talk about your art in a non-judgmental and enlightening session.
