ALTA have returned with their percussive low-fi and lush production. ‘Back On It’ is the latest offering from the Melbourne two-piece, showcasing a way moodier side to their sound. The track premiered on Mornings with Bridie Tanner.

Following on from previous singles ‘Figured Out’ and ‘Now You Want Me’, which have amassed over 2.5 million streams, ‘Back On It’ stays true to ALTA’s gentle-yet-danceable sound, while at the same time weaving through more emotion both lyrically and sonically. Vocalist Hannah Lesser says the song is, “about recognition and taking accountability of your behaviour”.

Along with playing Splendour in the Grass and joining Running Touch on a national tour, ALTA have been working on a project with George from Seekae, who mixed ‘Back On It’.

‘Back On it’ is accompanied by a lyric video, which the duo produced in New York City. Like a VHS home video fused with a high res film clip, the video perfectly emulates the track’s cool contemporary overtones and quick beat.
